A message from the TrusteesWe are sorry about the disruption caused by the closure of the car park, which was undertaken to restrict access by caravans to the ground, and have unanimously decided on the following.
An extremely generous offer has been made by Rob Sketchly from Kent Trade Frames to install a height restricting barrier of 2.1 metres, which will be lockable and movable should a higher vehicle require access to the ground. The existing gate will be closed but not padlocked at all times and a noticed will be placed on the gate to remind users to keep it closed after use. We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the Village Hall carpark is really only for the use of hirers of the village hall. Kind Regards John Tutt, On behalf of the Trustees of the Village Hall.

You may be aware the Village Hall Committee are embarking on a grant application to extensively improve the hall facilities. To this end we are asking for your help with the project application by letting us know your thoughts on the hall at present, what you would like to see improved and what you currently use the hall for.
Fundraising efforts are again coming to fruition, with the new heating in the main hall having been completed in the summer. Now the guttering is completed too we'd like to say a huge Thank You to
Friends of Upchurch Village Hall who raised £763.37 at their Disco. Ralph Liddell who raised £571.25 at his Talent Competition. A very generous village person who kindly donated £750 but wishes to remain anonymous. Swale Borough Council helped with a grant of £400 and Kent County Council gave a grant of £1,000! Thanks to the staff and customers of the Co-op for their continued efforts in helping us. Having Upchurch Village Hall as your preferred charity when shopping there, has raised us £1007.80! Please continue to have is as your preferred charity. Several others have kindly helped including Terry's with his continuous book sales. Please continue fund raising as our next project will be updating the electrics! |
